Kid Koala

Space Cadet Headphone Experience Tour

Described as a jazzy hip hop lullaby, Kid Koala, aka Eric San, creates an amazing sonic storytelling environment using turntables, piano and experimental lighting to produce an awe-inspiring visual dimension to the music. Not your traditional concert, but a cool show experience for all ages that engages and stimulates audiences on many different sensory levels.

Société S.A. Ouest-France

His new picture book-with-sound track, Space Cadet, tells the story of a space cadet and her guardian robot. More than just a DJ, Kid Koala uses language of technology and science fiction to talk about human relationships and to treat his audience to a multi-media environment filled with surprises.

"It's a headphone concert, gallery, science fair and it's fun for the whole family," Eric explains. A Space Gallery accompanies the show complete with interactive Music Spaceship Console, a Space Cadet Soundtrack Cassette Jukebox, and original etch boards from the Space Cadet graphic novel, " …and there will be cookies, to decorate and to eat!"

"Audiences surrender to the comfort of inflatable "space pods" wired for open air wireless headphones, through which most of the concert's music is transmitted." Because the music was written almost as lullabies," says Eric, "the layers are really nuanced and subtle." The feeling during the concert is that you're having this communal experience with people around you, but everyone is having a personal, unique headphone experience."
